Pantry Metrics – Template

It's important to gather information about more than just how much food is given out. We also need to look at the nutritional value of the food, the cultural appropriateness of the food offerings, and how Neighbors feel about their experience at the pantry.
Key areas that you can consider measuring to assess and communicate your impact, evaluate success, and understand where you can grow:
#1 | Pantry Services
Report on the number of:
- Meals served
- Unduplicated households
- Individuals served
- Pounds of food provided
- Report on average household size
- Any other trends at each distribution point
- Report on demographic data (Adult/Youth/Senior; Disabled; Veterans, etc)
#2 | Resource Access
Report on the number of:
- Individuals screened for SNAP Benefits
- SNAP applications submitted and How many are approved
- Individuals referred and/or screened for other social services
- Connections made to other community resources and services
#3 | Nutritional Value & Nutrition Nudges
Report on the number/variety of:
- Fresh, frozen, and canned fruits & vegetables
- Whole-grain products
- Fresh & frozen lean proteins
- Low-fat dairy products
- Nutritional Nudges that are incorporated into the pantry distribution
- Pounds of foods that promote health that are donated
- Availabile foods suitable for special diets
